The South African Government has numerous tender opportunities available to qualifying companies on a regular basis. Apart from submitting the required standard bidding documents, bidders can submit additional information that they deem necessary in support of their bid. It is essential that the bid response is submitted in the required format.
Each bid is made up of the following standard bid documents which need to be completed truthfully and accurately by bidders: –
Each document needs to be completed and signed by the bidder as an acknowledgment that the bidder agrees to be bound by the bid’s terms and conditions.
This document contains an application for tax clearance certificate form which applicants should complete and hand in at SARS to obtain a tax clearance certificate if they are not already tax compliant. Proof of the bidder’s tax clearance status and PIN must be attached under this section and submitted as part of the bid application.
Under this section, the bidder needs to complete the pricing schedule in its format as issued by the tender authority, together with the required explanations and motivations. Additional detailed pricing schedules in the bidder’s format can be attached where necessary if required by the specifications.
This is a declaration by the bidder that states any existing relationship/s or acquaintance/s with employees of the State in order to ensure that these individuals, if any, are not involved in the bid in any way in order to avoid corruption.
This document refers to the Industrial Participation Programme, i.e. contracts with imported content of US$ 10 million or higher have an industrial participation (IP) obligation, which must be addressed in the bid.
Bidders need to claim preference points by completing this form.
If applicable, a bidder must complete the SBD 6.2 and its supporting Annexures.
